Your city is so far, lovely. I ws taken to the Fremantle Gaol last night and have the torch and cat’o’nine tails marks on Husband’s back to prove it. Great tour, very well executed and I think next time we’re back here we might have to go again.
Had an awesome dinner at the little food court just down the road, Japanese garlic chicken and Husband inhaled a plate of pad Thai that was evidently delicious, judging by the pace at which it vanished.
Did I mention the cat’o’nine tails? Yes, well. At one point on the tour there was an old flogging post set up, in the Corporal Punshiment yard, and like an idiot I volunteered that I knew what it was. Husband was standing next to me and when Simon The Tour Guide asked him what my name was he gave it, which is a very silly thing to do in a prison. So then Husband got asked to assume the position on the flogging post and I was handed a small, plastic cat’o’nine tails, and asked, for the education of the group present, to demonstrate a flogging.
Good thing I’ve got decent whip control, and Husband was wearing two layers. He’s still got some marks on his lower back, though, even though it was plastic that thing had some bite.
Today we are going to take a bit more of a look around, I might even see if I can get my camera out and take some pictures. I need to find a JB HiFi or a Good Guys, though, and get a camera kit for my iPad, like I’ve naren meaning to for a while, so that I can put pictures straight on here instead of having to wait until we’re back East to upload them.
Looking forward to meting a few of you Tumblr-ites tomorrow, for those not in the know but in the state, at noon on Sunday we are meeting at the giant cactus looking statue, opposite the train station.
Love y’all!!
Love Anna.
